CALIBRE #12 On Sale Now!
The twelfth issue of CALIBRE hits newsagents today and represents the second edition of our new bi-monthly schedule, and follows on from the success of our inaugural luxury annual, CALIBRE Luxury.
Gracing the cover this month is the journalist, broadcaster and occasional ballroom dancer, John Sergeant, who is best-known for his dogged reporting during the Thatcher years and the birth of New Labour. For once, however, it was John who was answering the questions as we grilled him on Theresa May, Brexit and the role of journalism in the 21st century. His answers embodied the critical thinking you would expect of a man who spent 20 years trying to wrangle a straight answer out of slimy politicians, but he maintained that famous calm tone and knowing smile throughout.
Speaking of John’s achievements, he managed to add another tick to his bucket list when he hosted our CALIBRE Dinner event, which you can see exclusive photos of within this issue. Thrown as a big ‘thank you’ to all the contributors, advertisers and supporters who have helped us reached this point, we also raised money for our military charity partners. It was a fantastic night and we hope to be able to do more for them in the future.
Elsewhere in this issue, we got to go behind the wheel of the Jaguar XF R-Sport AWD, whose name may be quite the mouthful but, fortunately, it is quite the car as well. We also go behind-the-scenes on the world’s most luxurious ship, the Seven Seas Explorer, our Editor went under the laser to find out if cosmetic surgery is all it’s cracked up to be, and we explain why sometimes you can judge a book by its cover, in particular, when that book is a bottle of whisky!
So, all in all, another jam-packed and exciting issue, cementing our place as the leading lifestyle magazine for the mature, modern man.
