Facebook Boycott Encouraging Advertisers To Print
Disney is the latest brand to suspend advertising on Facebook as momentum grows for the Stop Hate for Profit campaign. The entertainment company joins numerous other advertisers including Britvic, Ford, Adidas, HP, Coca Cola, Unilever, Starbucks and many other household names. Now the campaign is reportedly turning, encouraging European companies to join the boycott and urging regulators to take a hard stand on Facebook.
Media Analyst Esther Kezia Thorpe of the Media Voices Podcast and What’s New In Publishing said if advertisers wanted to make a stand, they should preferably advertise in a print publication.
For advertisers jumping aboard the ‘boycott Facebook’ train, remember they own Instagram too. Boycott both, buy some ads on a publisher site, or even better, in a magazine. #supportpublishers
